Aciphex
Uses
Aciphex (Generic: Rabeprazole) is used for short-term healing of a gradual breakdown (erosion) or sore (ulceration) in the esophagus which may be caused by the backward flow of gastric acid from the stomach into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD); maintenance of healing of erosive or ulcerative GERD; treatment of daytime and nighttime heartburn and other symptoms associated with GERD; short-term (up to 4 weeks) healing of an ulcer in the duodenum; elimination of Helicobacter pylori, in combination with amoxicillin and clarithromycin, to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence in patients with a current duodenal ulcer or a duodenal ulcer in the past 5 years; medical conditions that result in the body secreting too much acid, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Precautions
Aciphex does not work for everyone. Improvement in your symptoms does not prevent you from having other stomach-related medical conditions. Because Aciphex lowers the level of acid in your stomach, certain other medications can interact with Aciphex. Review all medications that you are taking with your health care provider, including those that you take without a prescription. Alesse
Uses
Alesse (Ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel) contains a combination of hormones, estrogen and progesterone, which are female hormones involved in conception. Alesse prevents ovulation. Alesse also causes the cervical mucous to thicken, which makes it harder for sperm to move toward the uterus, and prevents the attachment of the egg to the uterus, thus preventing pregnancy. Alesse may also be used for purposes other than preventing pregnancy.
How to use
Take Alesse exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take the first pill in the package on the first Sunday after your period begins (unless otherwise directed by your doctor). Take one pill every day, within 24 hours period since your last dose. Try to take the pills at a time that you will remember every day--for example just before bed, with a meal, or first thing in the morning, etc. Taking your pill at night may help to reduce any nausea or headache that you may experience due to the hormones. If you are on a 28-day cycle, take one pill every day. When the pack runs out, throw it away. Begin a new pack the following day.
Precautions
Follow your doctor's instructions about using a second form of birth control when you first start taking Alesse, when you are taking antibiotics, or if you miss a pill. If you are unsure what to do with any of these cases, talk to your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor about how to ensure the prevention of pregnancy.
Side Effects
If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking Alesse and seek emergency medical attention: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); a blood clot in the lung (shortness of breath or pain in the chest); a blood clot in an arm or leg (pain, redness, swelling, or numbness of an arm or leg); high blood pressure (severe headache, flushing, blurred vision); liver damage (yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, abdominal pain or discomfort, unusual bleeding or bruising, severe fatigue). Less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Alesse and talk to your doctor if you experience: headache or dizziness; nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; breakthrough bleeding; or breast tenderness. Rare forms of side effects that could occur include: depression, changes in weight or appetite, vaginal yeast infection, changes in menstrual cycle, oily skin or acne, changes in sex drive, lethargy or fatigue, bloating, changes in skin color, changes in your blood sugar.

Precautions
Buspirone is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic or severe renal impairment. The occurrence of elevated blood pressure in patients receiving both buspirone and a MAO inhibitor has been reported. Therefore, it is recommended that buspirone should not be used concomitantly with a MAO inhibitor. Pregnancy and Lactation: The safety of buspirone during pregnancy and lactation has not been established and, therefore, it should not be used in women of childbearing potential or nursing mothers, unless, in the opinion of the physician, the potential benefits to the patient outweigh the possible hazards to the fetus. Buspirone and its metabolites are excreted in milk in rats. The extent of excretion in human milk has not yet been determined.
Side Effects
The most common adverse reactions encountered with buspirone are dizziness, headache, drowsiness and nausea. During premarketing clinical trials, approximately 10% of the patients discontinued treatment due to an adverse event. Adverse reactions reported include the following. Mircette
Uses
Mircette (desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol and ethinyl estradiol) is a bi-phasic" oral contraceptive pill. Mircette tablets contain the hormones that are delivered in two stages. This combination oral contraceptives act by suppression of gonadotropins, inhibition of ovulation, and changes in the cervical mucus (which increase the difficulty of sperm entry into the uterus) and the endometrium (which reduce the likelihood of implantation).
How to use
To achieve maximum contraceptive effectiveness, Mircette (desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol and ethinyl estradiol) Tablets must be taken exactly as directed and at intervals not exceeding 24 hours. Mircette may be initiated using either a Sunday start or a Day 1 start. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

Oral contraceptives may compound the effects of well-known risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemias ,and obesity. In particular, some progestogens are known to decrease HDL cholesterol and cause glucose intolerance, while estrogens may create a state of hyperinsulinism. Oral contraceptives have been shown to increase blood pressure among users. Similar effects on risk factors have been associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Oral contraceptives must be used with caution in women with cardiovascular disease risk factors.
Side Effects
An increased risk of the following serious adverse reactions has been associated with the use of oral contraceptives: thrombophlebitis and venous thrombosis, arterial thromboembolism, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis, hypertension, gallbladder disease, and hepatic adenomas or benign liver tumors. The following adverse reactions have been reported in patients receiving oral contraceptives and are believed to be drug-related: nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal symptoms (such as abdominal cramps and bloating), change in menstrual flow, amenorrhea, temporary infertility after discontinuation of treatment, Edema Melasma which may persist, breast changes: tenderness, enlargement, secretion, Change in weight (increase or decrease), change in cervical erosion and secretion, diminution in lactation when given immediately postpartum, cholestatic jaundice, Migraine Rash (allergic), mental depression, reduced tolerance to carbohydrates, vaginal candidiasis, change in corneal curvature (steepening), intolerance to contact lenses, etc. The following adverse reactions have been reported in users of oral contraceptives and the association has been neither confirmed nor refuted: pre-menstrual syndrome, cataracts, changes in appetite, cystitis-like syndrome, headache, nervousness, dizziness, hirsutism, loss of scalp hair, erythema multiforme, erythema nodosum, hemorrhagic eruption, vaginitis, porphyria, impaired renal function, hemolytic uremic syndrome, acne, changes in libido, colitis, Budd-Chiari Syndrome, effects on menses (increased menstrual cycle regularity, decreased blood loss and decreased incidence of iron deficiency anemia, decreased incidence of dysmenorrhea), effects related to inhibition of ovulation (decreased incidence of functional ovarian cysts, decreased incidence of ectopic pregnancies).

Ortho Evra Patch
Uses
Ortho_Evra_Patch is a combination hormone patch used to prevent pregnancy. It contains hormones similar to those in birth control pills. The hormones release from the patch slowly over time. Using Ortho Evra Patch patch does not protect you or your partner against HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
How To Use
Review the Patient Information Leaflet. Follow all instructions on how to use Ortho Evra Patch patch and also the best time (during your menstrual cycle) to start using the patch. If any of the information is unclear, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Open the patch container and apply one patch to an area of clean, dry skin on the buttock, abdomen, upper outer arm, or upper body (torso) exactly as directed by your doctor. The patch is worn for 7 days. Do not apply the patch to the breast(s), the area around the breast(s); to red, cut, or irritated skin; or over other topical products (e.g., make-up, creams, lotions, powders). After 7 days, remove the old patch and apply a new patch. Repeat this weekly cycle for 3 weeks (3 patches equal 1 cycle). After your third patch is removed, you will have one week without using the patch. Your menstrual cycle (period) usually should start during the week when you do not use the patch. If your menstrual cycle (period) does not begin during this week, consult your doctor. After your 4th week, begin a new patch cycle, even if you still are experiencing some bleeding (still having your period). Do not go longer than 7 days without a patch. Doing so may make Ortho Evra Patch less effective. If the medication patch accidentally comes off, is removed, or if it becomes detached, apply a new patch. If it is detached or comes off for longer than 24 hours, or if you are not sure how long the patch has been detached or removed, use additional forms of birth control (e.g., condoms, spermicide) for at least 7 days and continue with the same cycle. After removing each patch, fold the patch in half so it sticks to itself and discard it in a trash container. Do not discard or flush the patches down a toilet. If you weigh more than 198 pounds (90 kg), this patch may not work as well for you. Make sure your doctor knows your current weight and ask about which form of birth control is best for you. If any of this information is unclear, consult the Patient Information Leaflet or your doctor or pharmacist.
Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, headache, redness or itching at the patch application site, dizziness, breast tenderness, vaginal discomfort/irritation, or stomach cramping/bloating may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: unusual vaginal discharge, changes in vaginal bleeding (e.g., spotting, breakthrough bleeding, prolonged or complete stoppage of bleeding), swelling, severe headache, mental/mood changes. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: pain in the groin or lower legs, trouble breathing, rash, chest pain, stomach pain, vision or eye problems. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, one-sided weakness, numbness in the arms/legs, lumps in the breast. Do not smoke cigarettes. Hormonal birth control (e.g., pills, injections, devices) products combined with smoking cigarettes significantly increase your risk for strokes, blood clots, high blood pressure, and heart attacks; especially in women older than 35 years of age. Ask your doctor or pharmacist or consult the patient information leaflet that comes with this product for more details. Before having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor(s) that you are using this product.
